We are seeking a family law attorney to join our team.
Overview:
The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
The primary responsibility of our family law associate attorney is to handle all aspects of a client's case including communicating with clients and other counsels, drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, and other Court documents, conducting discovery, preparing for and attending Court hearings, conferences, and trials.
Though the Associate's case load is determined by the Head Attorney, the Associate should always look to relieve the Head Attorney of cases in an effort to allow the Head Attorney to focus on the firm's goals and vision.
Reporting Relationship:
Family law associate attorney report to the Head Attorney.
Authority:
With respect to control over cases, supervision of staff, and administrative duties, associates will have only that authority that is specifically delegated by the Head Attorney.
Responsibilities:
The Associate shall perform legal services including:
Meeting with clients to learn the clients' goals Ensuring the clients are kept updated on the progress of their matter Setting case strategy, legal strategy, and performing and overseeing tasks needed to drive the case to milestones and timely resolution Appearing on behalf of and advocating for clients during depositions, mediations, settlement conferences and/or meetings, various types of hearings, trials, etc Conducting legal research; drafting motions, pleadings, stipulations, orders, judgments, and, other Court documents; and, overseeing and analyzing discovery Supervising, approving, and filing final court documents under signature Education & Experience Associate attorneys must have a law degree from an accredited law school, be licensed in California, and have experience in family law.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
