Front End Web Developer

Surfline is actively recruiting for a motivated front-end web developer to join our application development team. This position is full time, long term, to help produce new applications, as well as maintain and expand existing applications.
Your primary responsibilities will consist of:
o Front-end application development
o Programming primarily in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
o Quality Assurance
o Deployment
o Application Maintenance and Support
If you feel more comfortable in one of those areas, and are perhaps lacking the skills in others, this is a great opportunity for you to learn and expand your skill set.
Although this role provides a high degree of freedom, time management skills are integral to our operations at Surfline, therefore a firm understanding of the underlying technologies and excellent communication skills are necessary.
Required skills:
o Strong understanding of XHTML, CSS, jQuery (not just plugins)
o Experience with JavaScript frameworks
o Experience developing applications using RESTful API's
o Version control (SVN)
o Troubleshoot and resolve code issues
o Ability to work independently and be a team player
o Effective communication and organization skills
o Ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently
Any experience in the following a plus:
o Adobe Coldfusion 8+
o Java, PHP, Python, Perl
o Angular.js or Node.js experience
o NoSQL database experience (e.g.: MongoDB, CouchDB)
o Experience with Redis or Varnish
A minimum 2-3 years of solid experience with database intensive web application design & development is required. A bachelor's degree in computer science is preferred but not required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
