At Landmark, our interdisciplinary teams collaboratively manage our complex patient panels. These teams are led by Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants, with supporting care provided by RN Nurse Care Managers, Social Workers, Pharmacists, Behavioral Health and other employed team members. Responsibilities Position Overview: In this key, highly visible role, the Corporate Counsel is primarily responsible for providing counsel on a variety of health-care business, corporate, and commercial matters, with an emphasis on drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and implementing contracts with health plans, providers, and other health care organizations and vendors across the country. The position is based at our corporate headquarters in Huntington Beach, California. What you'll be doing: Structure and negotiate business relationships, transactions, and overseeing a wide variety of strategic alliances and business development activities. Draft, review, analyze and negotiate contracts, agreements, memoranda and other legal documents to which Landmark intends to become a party. Research and analyze laws, rules and regulations that impact Landmark's business and helping Landmark to implement those laws, rules and regulations. Review and assist with updating best demonstrated practices and execution of process improvements to better align and anticipate changing healthcare laws and regulations. Establish a rapport and working relationship with business managers in order to encourage and continue the proactive use of in-house legal counsel. Perform special assignments or projects as assigned by the General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel. Qualifications What we're looking for: JD degree with a minimum of 6 years of legal experience in operations, corporate law, and health care law (preferred). Candidates who have in-house experience and/or possess experience representing entrepreneurial clients will receive first consideration. General understanding of relevant health care compliance issues (i.e. Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark, HIPAA). Legal experience in labor and employment issues a plus. Must be admitted to the bar of the state of California High energy, ability to work in a fast paced, rapid growth environment Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization What Makes this a Great Opportunity? The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
